Soul and Spice: Inspiring women to love their bodies

Body image is one of the biggest topics we’ve covered here at Confronting Love. It’s certainly prompted the biggest response from readers and from other websites. Everyone relates, because everyone in our culture feels the pressures that society places on body idealism. Last February we posted 14 beautiful, raw, and personal stories from our readers — if you haven’t yet taken a few minutes to read some, please do. You will be touched.

Nele Baert, from her website

Body image is not just a woman’s issue to deal with. Men also deal with many issues regarding this; they just don’t talk about it. My article on penises here was picked up by the Good Men Project and also the popular Australian website, Mamamia. Both had big responses; lots of men were involved in the discussion at GMP (66 comments) and the Mamamia repost has 140 comments and counting.

I came across the website Soul and Spice after following back Nele Baert, the site’s owner. I liked what I read, particularly her manifesto about women loving their bodies. Give Nele a follow on Twitter and a Like on Facebook.

And check out 18 great quotes on body image.
